Even, every third tick is a carrier of pathogens which can cause serious diseases (Lyme disease, babesiosis, bartonellosis). Every year in Poland a 3.6 thousand cases of Lyme disease has been recorded. Early diagnosis offers the best chance for a quick start of treatment and can help to avoid burdensome complications.

Ticks are carriers of many pathogenic bacteria and protozoans that cause dangerous for human, chronic diseases. The most frequent illness is Lyme disease (borreliosis) caused by the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria. Erythema around the bite site, fever, weakness, muscle and joint pain are characteristic for this disease.

A quick diagnosis is very important not only on account of complications, but also to reduce the time and medical costs of healing this disease. In the first phase right after how erythema will appears on the body, illness is simple to heal, but if it reaches a complications, the treatment, becomes difficult, long-term and expensive.

At some patients the first stage of the Lyme disease are proceeding without any symptoms. The same tick examination for various pathogens will make it easier to make a decision for the appropriate treatment.

Specialists of the DNA Research Center have developed a method of tick examination by the PCR in terms of his dangerous pathogens.
